Tues. May 22 - The Black Forest and Murren, Switzerland
Leaving Baden Baden, we traveled south through the Black Forest under mostly low clouds, but were happy to arrive at The Black Forest Open Air Museum under mostly sunny skies.
The Museum is a collection of authentic farm buildings collected on an original farm site dating from 1612.
We continued south into Switzerland arriving at our destination under overcast skies. Nonetheless, we were treated to a scenic aerial gondola ride up from the Lauterbrunnen Valley to our hotel in Murren.
After lunch, Fabian gave us a tasty surprise, Black Forest cake!
At the end of a long day of travel, our arrival at the Jungfrau Hotel was very welcome. After getting settled into our delightful rooms, where each had a balcony, we sat down to a delicious group dinner. Our hosts assured us that the weather would start clearing up the next day and be spectacular on our last day. We were all thrilled when it turned out exactly as they had predicted.
