After leaving Munich, we stopped at Neuschwanstein Castle built by King Ludwig II. Some of us rode a shuttle up to Mary's Bridge, the rest walked. The walk up was fairly strenuous, but it was a beautiful, clear day, and we gained an unobstructed view of the castle from the bridge. Our coach was parked just below Hohenschwangau Castle, a boyhood home of Ludwig II.

We passed beside this calm and peaceful lake on the way to Salzburg. Following our arrival in the late afternoon, Fabian led us on a short tour of the center of old Salzburg before sitting down to another excellent group dinner.
